Praised Be Jesus Christ!
iReady Testing Next Two Weeks
Our students will begin their i‑Ready testing this week, and we are grateful for the focus and effort they will be bringing to this important part of their learning. The iReady diagnostic is completed in school only, giving teachers valuable insight into each child’s growth and areas of need. Families can support their children at home by encouraging restful sleep each night and ensuring they have a healthy breakfast before coming to school. You can also help by creating a calm morning routine, speaking positively about the testing, and reminding your child that doing their best is what matters most. Reading together at home, practicing math facts, and celebrating small successes can also build confidence. Thank you for partnering with us to help every student shine.

Grandparents & Special Friends Mass and Picnic
We are excited to welcome our beloved grandparents and special friends for a joyful celebration of faith and family. Our day will begin with 11:00 AM Mass, followed by a cheerful picnic lunch in the parish hall and gym. Families may bring their own picnic lunch or order through the school cafeteria, and we encourage everyone to bring lawn or picnic chairs for comfort. This event is a beautiful opportunity for students to share their school community, introduce their guests to classmates, and enjoy fellowship together. This celebration also connects beautifully with National Grandparents Day, a national observance inspired by Marian McQuade, a schoolteacher who wanted to honor the love, wisdom, and legacy grandparents share. It is celebrated every year on the Sunday after Labor Day, reminding us of the important role grandparents play in passing down faith, values, and family traditions. We look forward to filling the campus with gratitude, laughter, and the spirit of St. Joseph as we honor these special members of our community.

September Saint – St. John Henry Newman

St. John Neumann was a missionary bishop in Philadelphia who lovingly served immigrant families and worked tirelessly to build Catholic schools. He reminds us that every act of service—big or small—can be a way to share Christ’s love.
Virtues to Learn From: Hard work, Humility, A heart for serving others
Feast Day January 5
Patron Saint Of Catholic education and immigrants
Fun Fact for Kids St. John Neumann learned six languages so he could speak to people in their own language and make them feel welcomed and loved.

Family Faith Moments at Home

Here are simple ways your family can live out St. John Neumann’s virtues this month:
Pray together for children around the world who do not have access to school.
Choose one small act of service as a family—helping with chores, assisting a sibling, or doing something kind for a neighbor.
Talk about gratitude at dinner: What blessings has God given us through our school and community?

September 8

Happy Birthday, Mama Mary!

The Church celebrates the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary on September 8, marking the birth of Our Blessed Mother—celebrated nine months after the Immaculate Conception on December 8.
Though Scripture does not record her exact birth date, this feast has been honored since the 6th century. Tradition teaches that Mary was born to Saint Anne and Saint Joachim.
In the Church’s liturgical calendar, only three birthdays are celebrated: Jesus, St. John the Baptist, and Mother Mary, highlighting their special roles in salvation history.
